Biography

While Keith Wylie maintains a general commercial practice, he specialises in land use proceedings in the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court and Magistrates Court including merits appeals, declaratory and enforcement proceedings, compensation, valuation and mining proceedings and regulatory offence prosecutions, as well as appeals to higher courts against those decisions.
 
Keith regularly acts for private clients as well as local authorities and the State. He has been consistently ranked as a leading junior in Doyle’s Guide for the Queensland planning and environment practice area.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Keith completed a bachelor of laws with first class honours through the Queensland University of Technology, was appointed as an associate to his Honour Judge Rackemann and was then employed as an in-house solicitor within the Brisbane City Council dealing predominantly in planning appeals. Since being called to the Bar, Keith has completed a Master of Laws through the University of Queensland.

Prior to entering the law, Keith was an Army Officer and Black Hawk helicopter pilot, being deployed overseas on operations and achieving the rank of Major. He is a graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy and completed aeronautical engineering and masters of management studies degrees through the University of New South Wales, finishing first in his class in both degrees.
