BIOGRAPHY 

Odette was called to the Bar in May 2025. She has a broad commercial and public law practice with a particular focus on planning and environment litigation, local government matters, regulatory prosecutions, administrative law, native title and land compensation, together with a growing practice in succession, equity, and trusts.

Odette graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science in 2017 and was admitted as a legal practitioner in December 2017.

Prior to her call to the Bar, Odette practised as a solicitor in the planning and environment team at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where she acted for developers, local governments and State government entities in appeals, declaratory proceedings and enforcement proceedings in the Planning and Environment Court. Her practice as a solicitor also extended to native title matters, Land Court proceedings, and commercial litigation, including Supreme Court proceedings concerning PFAS contamination and private arbitrations.

Before joining Corrs, Odette served as Associate to the Members of the Land Court of Queensland and then as Associate to His Honour Judge Jones of the District Court of Queensland, sitting principally in the Planning and Environment Court.

At the Bar, Odette has continued to advise and appear led and unled on behalf of local governments, State agencies, and private clients. Her experience includes appearing in trials and applications in the Planning and Environment Court, acting for local governments in summary prosecutions in the Magistrates Court, appearing on reviews of regulatory decisions in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and she also receives regular briefs from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to appear on sentences in the District and Supreme Courts.
